Big ouch!

I leaned over the edge of my bed to pet my puppy and scared him half to death as I fell, almost on top of him. He hurriedly scampered away and hid under one of the cabinets. Sadly he is now afraid to stay beside the bed  since I bet he fears I might squash him.

As for me, I landed badly and have a huge bruise up my right side and I jarred my old injury. Back to the it hurts to sit, hurts to stand, hurts to do anything mode. The good part, since I work from home, I have the joy of not having to move around much. The bad part, I do have to move some and even little movements hurt (back affected).

I can hear my dad now - that's a sign you need to lose weight. Sigh...I hear you dad.

Movie Review: Capt. America

We heard great reviews of the film and were really excited to see the film. What's not to like? Captain America and Black Widow are back on the big screen. Add in the arrival of the not so mysterious villain (since we all know who it is) and the stage is set for action!

Battle Inside the Flow

"There is no other way! If we are to leave this place, we must break down the walls. Each of you find a spot. We must work together and put pressure all around the area. Welcome the heat! That means that soon it will be time! Be ready to move. We go as soon as the blood begins to flow!"

Whatever it is that causes the pain of dysmenorrhea, I wish it would be permanently leave and not replenish it's army every month. It HURTS!!!!! OTC pain medicine and hot water bottles only help ease the pain a little. The best solution is still sleep - which you can't do when there is work to be done.

Subic Trip

We decided to go on a road trip and take the Titan (our Chevrolet Trailblazer) on it's first run. Off we went to Subic with our friends. Simple plan: go, explore and come back. It having been years since I was last there, I had to do some research. There were quite a number of articles that came up but this proved the most helpful: 5 Restaurants To Try In Subic.

I am so thankful for technology. Never having driven there, it paid to have my smartphone with data plan and Google maps. Not being a native and not wanting to have to ask for directions unless absolutely necessary, Google Maps was a must. It only failed once. That was when I used the phone for its basic function - calling!

Soccer Mom

It's official! I am now a Soccer mom. I was very happy when my son told me he wants to learn how to play soccer. I was even happier that he and his dad found the school he can learn from. Of course I still had to be the one to make the calls but that was okay with me.

When the coach asked me how he developed an interest, I told him it was because he watches Detective Conan with me. He asked me what that was. I had the joy of talking about my favorite anime. I told him about Detective Conan movie 16: The Eleventh Striker. I hope the kids enjoy the movie. I get the feeling they'll be watching it soon.

Silly Polls

I just got a funny request. Perhaps some of you will not agree with my humor or opinion so feel free to agree to disagree :)

Someone I know sent me a message and a link. It said please vote for this person. She's the girlfriend of my son. Out of curiosity, I clicked the link and saw that apparently said girl was in a pageant to be school beauty queen. She looked like your typical college student. I'd never met her and was honestly not moved to click the like button. Perhaps it was also because I did not go to that school and  have no opinion as to what their rep should look like.

Movie: Wolverine

Rating: 3 1/2 stars - ok. Good action sequences which I really liked. Too emo for my taste.

A mutant super hero moping, brooding or sulking is what he's like at the start of the movie. His protective instincts and his instinct for survival are eventually what brings back the Wolverine.

Action scenes: beautiful. I love the fight scenes of Yukio. Her character is the most interesting one.Adopted with a gift for seeing the future (very limited), she is a spunky character with a tragic background.

Seriously, nothing to dwell on. Just entertainment, action and more action. It was definitely not boring! Would I watch it again: maybe...but most likely on the small screen.

PS. Not digging the bone claws. I understand it was in the comics but I still preferred his adamantium blades.
